 Serhii DZIUBA
Ukrainian poet, novelist, essayist, playwright, translator and parodist, critic.
Serhii Dziuba was born September 20, 1964 in Piryatin, Poltava Region (Ukraine). He graduated from the Journalism faculty of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv State University. He worked for Ukrainian and foreign newspapers, magazines, and radio stations. He served in the Army (major of supply).
Serhii Dziuba currently lives and works in the city of Chernihiv. He is President of the local organization of journalists, writers and researchers, "Chernihiv Intellectual Center". Mr. Dziuba is also the chairman of the Chernihiv branch of the Ukrainian National Union of Journalists, He is an honoured professor at the Lutsk Institute of Human Development of the University "Ukraine", and a member of the Ukrainian National Union of Writers.
His 31 books and 9 audio-books are devoted to his wife - novelist, journalist and literary critic Tatyana Dziuba. (As the experts say, this is the only such event in the history of world literature).
Serhii Dziuba is the author and director of 36 radio-plays, in which he played a major part. Addionally, he has compiled and published ten anthologies of modern Ukrainian poetry and prose, and translated from the Belarusian language, as well as co-authored songs.
Serhii Dziuba is the winner of many international and national awards. His works were translated into 30 languages and published in 23 countries. They were read, listened to and perused in books, newspapers, magazines, radio broadcasts, television and the Internet by more than two million people around the world.
